A Collaboration With Stanley Mouse

A guitar painted by Stanley Mouse! That has got to be one of the coolest things ive been apart of in my career.  Working with some of my “Heros of Art” is really the highlight of guitar building. Carving Tony Rices and Norman Blakes personal necks for his Santa Cruz Guitars, building a fretless guitar for Steve Kimock, building a neck through for Barry Sless..these are highlights for me.

When I was approached by Roger Mcnamee, of Moonalice, asking about a hollow body with a painting by Stanley Mouse, I was pretty floored.  Mouses iconic artwork captivated me the first time I saw it. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.

Some of the features are-

  • Carved spruce top
  • Mahogany Back and Neck
  • Ebony headstock,fingerboard and tailpiece
  • Corian inlays
  • Italian Celluloid binding
  • Lollar Filtertron in the bridge and a mini humbucker in the neck

    Hi.
I just wanted to say what an absolutely exquisite piece of work this guitar is. A literal work of Art in every way!!!
Obviously i can’t comment on how it plays or sounds as i sadly have never had the privilege of playing this or any of your amazing looking instruments unfortunately but i’m sure they sound and play every bit as good as they look. Living in the UK (and being far from wealthy!) makes it highly unlikely that i will get the chance to try out one of your guitars any time soon either but i can still dream and i visit your website at least once a week just to admire your beautiful guitars. I regularly spend a few hours at a time just looking over the build pictures on your Picasa Shop Pictures album.
I’m planning to try to build my dream guitar soon (my first complete scratch built guitar!!!) and your guitars and particularly the incredible design elements and attention detail you put into them has been a huge inspiration to me.
Thanks so much for that and i look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future.
    Best Regards,
    Dave
